Vol. 1 No. 1 (2011): Assessment of the Conservation Status of Sea Turtles

#AudioDescription: The cover of the first issue of the scientific journal BioBrasil – Brazilian Biodiversity, created by layout editor Denys Márcio Sousa, features a visually vibrant design that is thematically focused on marine conservation. Five different species of sea turtles appear on the cover, from top to bottom: a leatherback turtle, a loggerhead turtle, a hawksbill turtle, a green turtle, and an olive ridley turtle. They swim against a blue ocean background illustrated with schools of fish, reminiscent of the animals’ natural environment. This background is divided by wavy white lines into six stripes. The five central stripes are a darker blue. The first strip, which is a lighter shade of aquamarine, features the BioBrasil magazine logo. At the bottom of the cover, there is a final wavy strip in a caramel color. At the top of the cover is the BioBrasil magazine logo, followed by the subtitle “Biodiversidade Brasileira – Revista Científica”. The logo of ICMBio – Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation with the MMA – Ministry of the Environment brand appears in the lower left corner. In the footer, in the caramel-colored strip, the title of the edition can be read: “Thematic Issue: Assessment of the Conservation Status of Sea Turtles” with the information: Year 1, Number 1.
